The Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek with sleeping at the base camp begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After a brief stop in Lukla, the journey follows the Dudh Koshi River valley, passing through Sherpa villages, suspension bridges, and picturesque landscapes. The first day ends at Phakding for an overnight stay.
Walking along legendary trails, we continue to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant hub of the Khumbu region. Namche is a lively town with modern facilities, offering a unique contrast to the rugged wilderness around it. Here, we spend two nights to acclimatize. On the rest day, we take a short hike to higher altitudes, allowing us to adapt while enjoying our first glimpse of Mount Everest and other surrounding peaks. You can also explore the local market, museum, and monastery or simply relax in Namche.
Leaving Namche Bazar , the trek continues to Phortse, a charming village known for its terraced fields and breathtaking views. As we climb higher, the scenery becomes even more stunning, with panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kangtega.
Our next stop is Dingboche, a quiet village surrounded by stone walls and fields of barley and potatoes. Here, we spend another acclimatization day and hike up to Nangkar Tshang Hill, offering spectacular views of Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest peak.
The trail then leads to Lobuche, a small settlement near the Khumbu Glacier. Along the way, we pass Thugla Pass, a memorial site honoring climbers who lost their lives on Everest. From Lobuche, we make our way to Gorak Shep, the final village before EBC. A hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) rewards us with the most breathtaking view of Everest and its neighboring peaks.
Finally, we reach Everest Base Camp, the highlight of the trek. At EBC, we spend the night in tented camps set on the glacier. Under a canopy of stars, we listen to the gentle sounds of the glacier and the wind, experiencing a magical night that echoes the spirit of Everest climbers.
After an unforgettable night at Everest Base Camp, we retrace our steps to Lukla, visiting the famous Tengboche Monastery along the way.
