Tilicho Lake Trekking carries you on a journey through the premises of the highest altitude lake in the world, inciting you from the beginning to the end of your trek. Tilicho Lake trekking also carries historical and pilgrimage importance, as it was mentioned in the Holy Ramayan, a mythological Hindu book, that the lake is a holy place. Hindu pilgrims and devotees from all over the world visit the place for worship and pilgrimage. Tilicho Lake collects glacial melt of northern slopes like Thorangla Peak and the Annapurna Himalayas, and the Tilicho Lake Trekking gives you an opportunity to experience its magnificence.

We embark on the Tilicho Lake Trekking after your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and cultural sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley, followed by a scenic bus ride to Besisahar alongside the Marshyangdi River. During the initial days of the trek, the trails show magnificent views of Manaslu and Himchuli along with cultural insights in a village inhabited by various ethnic groups. Trails are quite similar to the Annapurna Circuit Trekking with few customizations. Instead of ascending the valley north to Tanki Manang and Yak Kharka, this trek takes you through the main valley to the western passes. The Khanshar Village, also known as the last village of Nepal, falls along the way as we trek up towards the Tilicho Lake. Then we cross Thorong La Pass, the highest pass in the world. Then we follow our trails towards the pilgrimage sites Muktinath and finally Jomsom to fly back to Pokhara.

Tilicho Lake trekking is one of the most challenging yet rewarding treks in the Annapurna region. Therefore, one must be physically fit with great passion towards exploring and trekking adventures. We can also customize this trip according to our client’s needs, requirements, and fitness level. We provide the option of crossing the challenging Moesokanta La Pass to Jomsom instead of the usual trek through the Thorung La Pass. Additional equipment is required along with properly equipped tented camps. Trip Itinerary
01Day

    You will be greeted by one of our representative at the airport. He/she will take you to your hotel. In the evening, you will meet with your guide, and he will describe you about the trip. You will end your day with a delicious welcome dinner and stay overnight in your hotel.

    02Day

       We will begin our day of course with the appetizing breakfast, and after that, we will go on the guided tour. We will visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. As per our time, we will visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and three Durbar Squares. In the evening, we will have a pre-trip meeting where we will discuss the trip and check all the gears. Overnight in the hotel.

      03Day

         Outshine Advneture staff will arrive at your Hotel to pick you up, about 6 hours of driving to Besishar. It is about 185km the road from Kathmandu, the road from kathmandu to Beshishar is intresting to out scenery views , you follow the trishuli river for first 4 hours and again the next river Marshandi, following the Trisuli river you have chance to see some rafting boats on river with many people chiling out with rafting pleasure. When you get in Besishar the scenery of snowcap mountains starts to appeare from this small city. When we continue the trail it offers beautiful views of Himalchuli also you feel walking with nature following the melodic sound of Khudi river.After about 6 hours walk we reach our first day destination at Syange.

        04Day

           walking around 6 hours we get our destination today. Crosing rivers, waterfalls and following some small village, The trail climbs steeply up. you continue to the stone village of Jagat located on Marsyangdi valley. After this, the trail start to monitor some steepy ups and down to Chamje through the scenic forests.Following the different nature and heading to altitude mountain is a different experense for you in your life.

          05Day

             Today,It takes about 6 hours to get our destination. We follow the river crossing bridge and we pass through a small village like Tal. Following the mountains nature as other days you forget the steepy path that you walking because of georgous scenery and peace Environment.

            06Day

               The distance is around 6 hours. The trail now leads to the west in Manaslu Himalaya.forming a superb scenery of Annapurna II appearing infrequently to the south. As we continue, Annapurana range offers a fabulous view of Annapurna range.

              07Day

                 We will ascend towards the field of buckwheat and reach Telekhu village (2,840 m). From here, we will trek through dense forest with dramatic sceneries. We will see an enormous curve slab of rock, Paungda Danda,  and further, ascend steeply to the upper Marsyangdi.  We will then follow the river valley and reach Pisang.

                08Day

                   We will ascend and reach pine grooves where we will see a small turquoise lake. From here, the trail goes through beautiful villages and go through yak grazing fields. Further, we will ascend steeply on a ridge following the right side of the Marsyangdi River. We will reach Ngawal (3,660 m) and continue trekking to reach Manang. We will get to see stunning views of Annapurna Range (8,091 m) and other mountains on our way to Manang.

                  09Day

                     Today is our rest day at Manag to make our body acclimatized with the increasing altitude. We will explore the nearby areas. Manag presents amazing views of the Himalayas and the milky blue glacier lake at the foot of spectacular Gangapurna icefall. We will also interact with the locals and get to experience their lifestyle and culture. 

                    10Day

                       We will descend and pass by a chorten and reach Marsyangdi River. We will cross Jharsing Khola on a suspension bridge. From here, we have two options either to cross the ridge north of Annapurna IV, II, and Glacier Dome or, to descend from village to the glacial lake at the foot of a huge icefall. As we get closer to Khangsar village, we will see a fantastic view of the Great Barrier. Overnight in Khangsar village.

                      11Day

                         Today, we ascend steeply and go through juniper and sea buckthorn bushes. The trail is covered with small crystals, and further, we will cross small streams to reach a crest. From here, we will trek on the zigzag trail that will lead us to Tilicho Base Camp. We will set our camp at Tilicho Base Camp.

                        12Day

                           Today, we will be going towards the Tilicho lake our main star of the trip.  We will begin trekking from a side of the valley and traverse onto a moraine to reach at 4,710 meters. We will reach Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world. After spending some time at the lake, we will trek back to the base camp where we will be staying for a night.

                          13Day

                             Today, the trail will ascend out of the Marsyangdi Valley and pass Goths. From here, the vegetation changes and we will see scrub juniper and alpine grasses all around us. Further, we will trek and cross a river on an old log bridge between Gunsang and Yak Kharka. Upon reaching Yak Kharka, we will see huge yak's grazing in the fields.

                            14Day

                               We will ascend along the east bank of the Jarsang Khola and further, descend crossing an old bridge on the way. We might see the blue sheep, snow leopards, Himalayan griffons, and large lammergeiers. The trail will present beautiful sceneries. Upon reaching Thorong Phedi, we will rest for a bit and explore the nearby area.

                              15Day

                                 Today will be going to be the most adventurous and difficult as we will be climbing Thorung La Pass (5,416 m). We will ascend steeply all the way up to the Thorung La Pass. We will get to see fantastic views of the Annapurna, Gangapurna and the heavily glaciated peak of Khatung Kang (6484m) from here. Further, we will descend steeply crossing meadows down to Muktinath where we will be staying for a night.

                                16Day

                                   On the way, we will see several vendors selling antique pieces made from Mollusk fossil and handicrafts to pilgrims. We will go through some caves, meadows, streams, and poplar and reach Kagbeni, which is a gateway to Upper Mustang. From here, we will trek on the windy trail of Kali Gandaki Valley and reach Jomsom.

                                  17Day

                                     After having breakfast, we will take an early morning flight to Pokhara. The flight will be scenic, and upon reaching Pokhara, we will move to our hotel. We will rest for a few hours and later, go on the guided sightseeing. We will visit David's Falls, Mahendra Cave, and other places. Later in the evening, we will explore the famous Lakeside and also do boating on the Few Lake. 

                                    18Day

                                       After having breakfast, we will drive back to Kathmandu. The drive will be scenic and presents beautiful views of green hills, rivers, and small settlements. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will move to our hotel and rest for the day. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner and stay overnight in the hotel.

                                      19Day

                                         After having the last breakfast of the trip, we will check-out of the hotel, and move to the Tribhuvan International Airport for our flight back to our hotel.
