Annapurna Trekking Trail Reopened

Annapurna Trekking Trail Reopened

Annapurna trekking trails were reopened last week which was shut down for safety reasons after deadly earthquake struck Nepal on April 25th 2015. On behalf of government of Nepal and Miyamoto earthquake geotechnical structural engineers carried an assessment project around two of the most popular trekking region of Nepal, Annapurna and Everest.

Assessment report based on earthquake damage shows that it is completely safe to embark for Annapurna trekking. Miyamoto Firms report shows that there has been less than 1% damage in the 149 mile circuit trail, and only 3% of guesthouses received damage. In the similar way, assessment project is being carried out at Everest region too. Both of these regions are the most popular trekking regions of the country that welcomes more than 140000 adventure lovers on annual basis.

Even after reopening of the trekking trails, and Miyamotos assessment report, government of Nepal and specially trekking operators are worried that number of tourists will decrease this peak season. However, with continuous assessment and rebuilding program being carried out recently, it is anticipated that visitors will slowly start to visit the naturally blessed country Nepal.
